Instant Search was started in 1991 by ex FT man Anthony Capstick. The basic idea for the business was that people wanted access to online information without paying for a subscription, being charged only for when the information was accessed.

The business grew up around that service, and the technology helped develop the business into a mail-order company, using call centre technology to handle the incoming call traffic. As faxes fell away the business moved more into the email space, and now most business is conducted online.

The business now operates in two parts - Business Information and Consulting. Business Information is still the bread and butter, whilst the consulting side means we have worked with the likes of Microsoft, BT Wholesale, many small and medium sized businesses, numerous Town and County Councils, as well as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA).
